Anne Marie McNeil

As a PADI Master Instructor, Anne Marie oversees Dive Operations at Turneffe Flats. She has been a PADI professional since 1995, has certified over 500 divers, and offered over 1000 participants a Discover Scuba Diving experience.  Anne Marie became interested in the marine environment while growing up by the sea in Jamaica.

Whether you want to try scuba diving for the first time, become an Ceritified Scuba Diver or pursue advanced diver training or specialty courses, Anne-Marie is a competent professional that can guide you through your experience safely and comfortably.

Aside from teaching students how to dive, fish and species identification are Anne-Marie’s favorite underwater activities.

Denroy Usher


Denroy Usher is the key Dive Master for Turneffe Flats, and has been a Dive Master since 2005. He is a congenial and knowledgeable guide, who enjoys sharing the underwater world with everyone.

Also a boat captain, Denroy is a wealth of knowledge of the area, dive sites at Turneffe and Lighthouse, and fish identification. Denroy’s passion for the sea and underwater world developed at a young age while growing up in Belize City. When the opportunity to become a Dive Master came up, he jumped at the chance to be in the environment that he loved.

Denroy is also an equipment specialist, and is always ready to help with your equipment, giving pointers on care and servicing.  Denroy lives within minutes of his childhood home in Belize City with his wife and children.

John Gongora

John Gongora has been a PADI Dive Master 2006.  He has been diving Turneffe and Lighthouse extensively for many years and is familiar with all the sites.

A very helpful and knowledgeable dive professional, John is excellent at spotting tiny marine creatures and is a bit of a White-Spotted Toadfish whisperer.

John has many funny stories he likes to share during surface intervals. He  is from Belize City and pursued diving because he loves being on the water and observing the beauty of the underwater world.

John is also a qualified boat captain, and an accomplished Salt Water Fly Fishing Guide, having learned from the top guides here at Turneffe Flats.
