Dive Staff

Alex Edwards, a PADI Instructor has certified more than 300 divers on all levels including that of Dive Master, now oversees all aspects of Turneffe Flats’ dive program. A PADI professional since 2000, he is additionally certified as an Advanced Marine Tour Guide in Belize. Alex offers Open Water Certification, Open Water Referrals, Advanced Open Water Certifications, Discover SCUBA courses, Enriched Air Certification and a variety of specialties offered. Whether you are new to diving or seeking to expand your level of certification, Edwards’ professional and calm approach will help you enjoy your diving education experience. Alex grew up in the Belize City area and particularly enjoys sharing his interest in the history of Belize.


Aldo Perez was born and raised in Orange Walk, Belize, also known as “Sugar City” because of the large sugar cane farms in the area. After started his diving career conducting research on in Southern Belize, Aldo became a PADI Dive Master in 2002. He enjoys the underwater beauty in Belize and dedicates himself to showing these wonders to all levels of divers. His outgoing personality and sense of humor make his dive trips fun and memorable. Prior to his diving career, Aldo worked as a commercial artist. He is married and lives with his lovely wife Clara in Belize City.


Charles Norales was born in Hopkins Village and grew up in Dangriga, a coastal town located 36 miles south of Belize city and known as the citrus  capital of Belize.  As Turneffe Flats' primary Boat Captain, a PADI Dive Instructor and a fly fishing guide in training,  versatility is Charles' strong suit.  Charles always emphasizes safety first as our Boat Captain and his smile and sense of humor ad to the fun on the dive boat.  Charles lives with his wife and daughter in Dangriga.
