"This was my third trip to Belize but my first to Turneffe flats. I'm in love and will return! Great people, great food, great lodge, fishing variety and the Turneffe Atoll is amazing. If you NEED to catch a permit book a trip they were everywhere!

"Awesome Fishing adventure - travel was easy, met at the airport, and returned to the airport. Did a Mayan ruin on my arrival morning it was excellently guided with much information about the country as well as the Mayans. The accommodations were air conditioned and clean with a friendly staff. Meals were professionally prepared And excellent. I had the best guide ever that took me to some great fishing and beautiful spots to do it. My only complaint was I had to leave."
- Shawn C., April 2016
"My Daughter and I had the trip of a lifetime fishing at Turneffe Flats Lodge. We had a great Guide, Michael Anderson who helped us catch lots of Bonefish and we each landed very nice Permit This was a great adventure to an island of the coast of Bellize . The Lodge is is remarkable and the setting is wonderful."

"We spent 11 days at the Turneffe Flats Resort enjoying a pristine Saltwater-Fly Fishing experience. All the staff was very friendly and extremely helpful and responding. We found the accommodation was very clean and the equipment of the cabins was convenient. The food was good, although we expected to be served more Fish :-) I also want to point out that the Fly Fishing Guides were very experienced, friendly and extremely dedicated to letting us experiencing some unforgettable days on the various flats around the Resort. Also in this regard the lodge is perfectly located to exploit fishing on the various species of fish (i.e. bonefish or permit, and if it's the season also for tarpon). Our group of ten friends enjoyed the stay on Turneffe Flats a lot - an unforgettable experience all-over. If it was not for the long trip to get there from Switzerland, I'm sure pretty all of us would be returning guests :-)"

"This is THE premier place to go for bone fish and permit fishing in the winter /spring months.
The place is a dream! The lodge is well run and beautifully kept. The owners are two of the reasons for going. Fabulous scenery, excellent guides, and exceptional staff."
- Nancy T., February 2016
"Tremendous hospitality in paradise- Turneffe Flats is a beautiful property in a remote location with all the comforts of a stateside B&B. Craig and Karen are the perfect hosts and the staff is top-notch, whether it be the housekeepers, kitchen staff, dive staff or fishing guides. All the food is fresh and made from scratch daily. The lodge is a perfect evening gathering spot to drink, dine and visit with the other guests. My fishing guide was patient, experienced and a good instructor when help was needed. Though I did not dive, roughly half the guests during the week of my visit were experienced divers. To a person, they independently shared with me their rave reviews of the dive sites and particularly the quality of the dive master. My cabana was clean, comfortable and surprisingly modern. I intend to return and would highly recommend Turneffe Flats for fishing, diving, or just for a remote excursion."
- Eric G., February 2016
"Great fishing, snorkeling & hospitality - I spent 3 days fishing for Bonefish and snorkeling out front of the property. Great locations, nice accomodations and friendly service. They do everything 1st class - from the boat ride to the property, to the daily service, to the post visit exit survey."
- Jim N., January 2016

"Our fourth trip to TF -- and there aren't a lot of places I say that about. Accommodation, food, staff and service are excellent. The guides work hard to help you succeed in fishing. The end of the stay always arrives too quickly. Wonderful location."
- Frederick Y., December 2015
"Fantastic experience- Husband matched to expert fly fishing guide= happy + wife matched to expert Eco-adventure and snorkeling guide = fantastically happy couple. Cabana suite was beautiful with large water front area. Service people are team-oriented with years of working together."

"Turneffe Flats = a slice of paradise! A fabulous fly fishing venue with lots of options for the non fishing companion.......one of the reasons we chose this venue because our group consisted of 5 non-fishing spouses. The flyfishing, the food, the staff - all five star. Hooked many bonefish, landed most, saw my backing on almost every hookup, three times on a couple of fish. My partner and I fished with Pops, renowned senior guide, and were rewarded with shots at numerous bonefish schools consisting of dozens to hundreds of fish. Had lots of shots at permit, but no eats....an elusive fish that can be tough....maybe next time!
Several in our group had dietary restrictions (gluten intolerance), and their talented kitchen staff was able to accommodate with excellent food choices.
Accommodations consisted of reef side cabanas/villa that had forever blue water views of the lagoon....and spectacular sunrises and double rainbows.
The 30 mile, 1 1/2 hr.boat ride in the 48 ft dive boat can be a bit of an adventure in a chop, but all in our group managed to arrive w/o "feeding the fish", and enjoyed the scenery along the way.
Airport pickup and baggage transfer were handled flawlessly, the result of an obviously well trained staff.
Easily one the of very best venues in Belize, I highly recommend it."

"My daughter and I stayed at Turneffe Flats for 7 days in early October 2015. Craig and Karen have built a truly special place in one of the greatest fishing areas I have ever experienced. Rooms were modern, air conditioned, comfortable and stylish...with an remarkable view of the barrier reef and the rising sun. Meals were communal, delicious, and served as a great way to end the day. The staff is highly competent, attentive and proud of what they do. Fishing is phenomenal.
Bottom line, no more trips to Mexico (no comparison) Turneffe Flats is a very special place and our family will pay many more visits there."
- Ken A., October 2015
"Great permit fishing, great owners and great staff- Just returned from a week chasing permit on the flats and saw more permit in 1 week than my previous 10+ flats trips combined. Craig and Karen are wonderful hosts. Guides and staff were excellent and happy...which says a lot about the work environment. I will go back!"

"Nothing less than fabulous! We visited Turneffe Flats for one week in September 2015. We Loved the entire vacation, from the snorkeling, to the fabulous fishing, food, and the really wonderful Lodge Owners Karen and Craig. I cannot think of a thing I would change. From the arrival at the airport you are handled with care and shuttled off by boat to this very lovely location in a very special place. This is a location to be cherished on this planet and one feels rather lucky to have had the experience of going. We hope to return in the not too distant future. Perfect vacation from start to finish! No need to waffle on this one."
- Kathy K., September 2015
"They have everything- On our trip to Turneffe Flats we had great weather, fantastic food and rooms and the snorkeling and fishing were great. I have never been to a fly fishing destination that offers first class guides, plenty of fish and a snorkeling program for my wife that is second to none."
- John P., August 2015
"Everything is taken care of at Tflats all you have to do is get a flight to Belize City and you will be picked up at the airport and not have to to worry about a thing for a week. It is a very well run and organized outfit that aims to please. Staff is courteous and friendly. Guides are flexible to do whatever you want to do and work hard to make you successful"

"Trip of a lifetime. If you want to fish, snorkel or dive in the most beautiful location on the planet, this is it. Wonderful accommodations too - air conditioning, nice shower. Lovely staff and the food was great. Guides are knowledgeable. We're already talking about our next visit there."

"Turneffe Flats is a first class operation. From the moment you dock to the van ride to the airport you are treated with courtesy and a friendly smile. We stayed in the waterfront rooms. Comfortable beds and serious hot water make for a relaxing night after a day of fishing. And the sunrise view is spectacular. Fishing was great. And food was also. The staff is always ready to help and will go out of their way to accomodate any special requests. Thanks Craig, Karen, Alex and Roxie for a great week."
- Neil C., September 2014
"Just returned from my third visit to T Flats to fly fish for permit, bone fish, and tarpon. The fish cooperated adding to the enjoyment. I've always found the accommodations, food, guides, and staff helpful, cooperative and friendly. The fishing guides are knowledgeable, hard working, and fun to fish with... I shall return."
- Rob W., July 2014
"Best resort in Belize for Fishing & Diving - My husband and I just returned from Turneffe Flats. Everything about the place was great. Even though the wind was blowing we still saw fish. We went to flyfish for Permit, Bonefish and Tarpon. All the staff was so friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and kept that way. The food was very good and they were very accommodating"

"My visit to Turneffe Flats was a dream come true. I wanted to try saltwater fly fishing for the first time and also do some scuba diving, which I had done before. I was able to do both, diving most mornings, fishing most afternoons, and electing to do a few days of just diving or just fishing. The fishing skiff met the scuba boat out on the water around noon, and I stepped from the undersea world into the world of hunting bonefish on the flats. My days were thus full and invigorating, and at night I slept like a baby.
The reefs were magical, the dive masters friendly and highly competent. The fishing was a blast. I was new to saltwater fly fishing and thus had to make my way up the learning curve. My guide was patient and encouraging. He definitely led me to the fish and taught me how to catch them. By the end of the week I was able to do so on my own. The environs of the lodge itself were absolutely idyllic. I was able to cast to bonefish right in front of my cabana, which was no more than 25 feet from the water. The food was great, the staff friendly, and the whole place felt like home in no time. I very much hope to return to Turneffe Flats in the future."

"I was here for with my family and a friend for 7 nights Christmas week 2013 and we all had an incredible time. The location is perfect for fishing, diving, or just gazing at the ocean. The Garden Villa was spacious and comfortable and the food was always delicious and plentiful. The fishing guides, dive masters, and staff are among the best you could find anywhere. Top notch people all around, from ownership to kitchen porters. Hats off to Craig, "Dubs", "Jad" and John in particular. My wife got her dive certification and my son his advanced dive certification. I fly fished alone and with my daughter and we had one of the best times of our life. We fell in love with this this place and now dream of returning again someday.

"Top Destination - We are a couple of global fly fishers, both for fresh and salt water. We have been travelling through out many countries and fishing lodges, looking for fishing oportunities associated to tourism and a trip to TLATS was always being considered, what we did this May, 2013. And we can state: was the best fishing operation we ever experienced in a remote fishing lodges. The reception at Belize City airport, the transfer to the lodge in a very safe and well manteined yacht, the reception at the lodge, everyting was TOP.
TLATS is located in a amazing point of the Atoll and the cottages are large, simple and imacullated clean, with a freezing air-conditioner and hot water running from the tap. A must in so remote location! The main lodge, with a well apointed restaurant, free internet and a well come bar was the meeting point of the guests - fishermen, divers and explorers. The food is also tastefull and well presented and all the staff was the more helpfull we ever met in our fishing trips.
But the principal atribute of the lodge is: LOCATION!!!!
Surrounded by flats, mongroves and waters coloured from the baby blue to turquoise, we found ourselves fishing on the heaven grounds...And after fishing, relaxing with a drink in the never end pool.
We're there for bonefishing and although the wather conditions were not the best the week we choosed - with some overcast skies and to breeze - we can caught and release plenty of them, some with honest 4 pounds, moreover some cudas and snappers on the coral reefs.
We only have good words to Craig and Kim, as to Jedi (fishing director) and Michael, our calm and patient guide, who put us on the fish.
Luiz and Jack, from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
PS: TFLATS is for travellers, not for tourists.
If you love shoppings, fashion restaurants, night clubs, loud music and dancing, please, do not go to TFLATS. You'd better stay in Miami Beach."
